If you received your Illinois CPA in 2009 and are not a Society member, you are entitled to free membership this year. It’s our way of saying congratulations and welcome to the profession.

If you have already received your first year of membership free after college graduation, this offer does NOT apply.

Student Affiliate 

2009 Student Member Graduates

Student Affiliate members are non-CPA students majoring in business (accounting, finance, economics, etc.) at an approved two-year or four-year college or university.  Non-CPAs in full-time Master’s level business programs are also eligible to be Student Affiliate members.

Approved to Test for CPA Exam   OR   Enrolled in a CPA Review Course 

Membership type is Professional Affiliate

To be eligible for this category, you must either have Approved to Test status from the Illinois Board of Examiners and/or be enrolled in a CPA Review Course.

While you prepare for the CPA exam you can experience the benefits of membership for a discounted rate.  The required Ethics Exam CD is available for only $60 vs. the regular $124 cost.

Professional Affiliate 

Professional Affiliate members do not hold the CPA credential but have business relevancy to the accounting profession. These individuals often provide products/services to CPAs or hold positions such as non-CPA accountants, managers, CEOs, CFOs or business/finance analysts.  (Professional Affiliates are required by Society bylaws to identify themselves as Affiliate members of the Society.)

Academic Affiliate 

Academic Affiliate members are non-CPA high school/college/university (2-and 4-year) educators, who teach accounting, business and/or finance-related classes.

International Affiliate 

International Affiliate members are non-US citizens and do not hold a CPA certificate issued by a U.S. jurisdiction, but who do hold a valid & unrevoked certificate as a chartered accountant or its equivalent. In addition, an eligible International Affiliate must be a member of at least one association belonging to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
