CHICAGO, June 22, 2016 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Elizabeth Pittelkow, Director of Accounting and Compliance at ArrowStream, a Chicago-based supply chain software solutions provider, with its Young Professional Leadership Award. Pittelkow was recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership skills in her career, for her public and community service contributions and for her involvement with the Society.
She received the honor on Tuesday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago.
Currently, Pittelkow is a member of the Society’s Board of Directors and Ethics Committee. She is also a graduate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Leadership Academy. She serves on AICPA’s Council and on the Institute’s Business and Industry Executive Committee.
In her role at ArrowStream, Pittelkow oversees a wide variety of financial management and risk mitigation responsibilities. She also serves as president of her company’s Toastmasters club.
Pittelkow said in a recent speech to Illinois CPA Society members, “My mentors have taught me that one of the best ways to respect our profession is to volunteer time and resources to make life better for others. We are all achievers because others took interest in us, which is why it is so important for us to do the same.”
Outside of work, Pittelkow enjoys mentoring professionals and students. She has a passion for volunteering for organizations that have a focus on homelessness and children’s wellness.
