The Illinois CPA Society's Legislative Contact Program includes volunteer members from all segments of the Society who have agreed to establish and maintain a liaison between themselves and members of the Illinois General Assembly in Springfield and the United States Congress in Washington D.C.
This program is an effective way for the CPA profession to communicate with lawmakers on legislative items of interest.
- The Legislative Contact may be a constituent (although not mandatory), a campaign treasurer, close friend, neighbor, business associate, relative, etc.
- The main duty of the Legislative Contact is to communicate with his or her legislator, when asked by the Society, on a current or new issue.
- There is minimal time commitment involved and no regular meetings to attend.
To access a full list of all legislators, please see the ICPAS Legislative Action Center.
Please consider volunteering as a contact and completing the online volunteer form to join us.
If you are uncertain about the districts you are a constituent for, visit the Illinois Board of Elections website, click on the interactive map entitled "New District/Official Search," and enter your home address. Again, if you are personally acquainted with a legislator and would like to be a contact for them, you are not required to reside in their district.
If you have already completed an online volunteer form and are a current legislative contact, no further action is required on your part. We greatly appreciate your participation. For regulatory guidance on being a Legislative Contact, please view our guidelines
