Basic View
You can subscribe to the Basic View of the FASB's Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) for FREE at http://asc.fasb.org/ by clicking on Order Professional or Basic View and completing a simple registration.
Once registered and logged in, there is an Area listing on the left side of the page. You will want to hover your cursor over those Areas which will expand to Topics, then to Subtopics and finally, Sections.
Navigating through the system is pretty easy, but if you need additional guidance go to Help, FAQ, Learning Guide and About the Codification which are listed on the very first page. You can also cross-reference old standards using the Basic View which is a nice feature.
The Basic View includes browse by topics, limited print functionality and a utility to identify the location of legacy standards.
Professional View
Annual Subscription $850 - Discounts for Multiple Users. This is a concurrent use product, providing full functionality and advanced navigation features.
Print Edition
The annual print edition of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification® can be ordered online at the FASB store at the cost of $215.
GASB Pronouncements
The GASB website includes FREE download of GASB Statements, Concept Statements, Interpretations, Technical Bulletins.
Those publications not currently posted for downloading are available at the GASB Store.
U.S. Government Accountability Office
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) promulgates Government Auditing Standards (the Yellow Book) and other interpretive publications to assist practitioners in understanding the applying the standards.
Auditing Standards Board
The Auditing Standards Board promulgates Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS), Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) and Statements on Quality Control Standards (SQCS), and, as a part of its due process, releases Exposure Drafts of proposed standards. The AICPA also issues interpretive and other publications to assist practitioners in understanding and applying the standards.
Accounting and Review Services Committee
The Accounting and Review Services Committee promulgates Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS) and, as a part of its due process, releases Exposure Drafts of proposed SSARS. The AICPA also issues interpretive and other publications to assist practitioners in understanding and applying the standards
AICPA Technical Hotline
The AICPA Technical Hotline is is an AICPA Member only service providing free, high-quality technical assistance by phone concerning issues related to accounting and financial reporting, auditing and attestation, compilation, and review standards.
