CHICAGO, June 22, 2016 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Juan Ortiz, Manager in the Business Tax Services group for the Chicago office of Deloitte, with the Lester H. McKeever Jr. Emerging Leader in Advancing Diversity Award. Ortiz was recognized for his leadership and commitment to fostering a culture of diversity within his profession.
He received the honor on Tuesday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago.
Ortiz has been actively involved with the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) and currently serves on the Executive Board of its Chicago chapter as Treasurer. ALPFA’s mission is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.
At Deloitte, Ortiz has been involved in various programs that promote leadership, diversity and mentorship in the accounting profession, including Careers in Motion (CIM) and the Future Leaders Apprentice Program (FLAP).
Ortiz grew up in northern Illinois and currently lives in Chicago. He has been with Deloitte for more than eight years.
