CHICAGO, June 28, 2017 – The Illinois CPA Society is providing $62,000 in scholarships to 33 accounting students as part of the Society’s Accounting Scholarship Program funded by the CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois. These college scholarship recipients attend colleges and universities around the state.
Supported solely by contributions to the CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois, the Society’s scholarship programs are helping students pursue careers in accounting as well as their CPA credentials. Students receive aid for tuition, textbooks, CPA Exam fees and more.
In addition to scholarships, initiatives such as the Society’s Student Ambassador Program make it possible for students to enhance their business skills and develop connections as they progress and transition into the profession.
“The accounting profession is thriving and we’re proud to support these dedicated students as they learn skills that will lead to promising careers,” said Todd Shapiro, President and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society. “With this impressive group, the future of accounting is in good hands and we’re thankful for the many generous donors who are providing the financial resources to help these students seek bright futures.”
