Women Accounting Leaders Honored: Illinois CPA Society Announces its Women to Watch Award Winners

CHICAGO, September 14, 2017 The Illinois CPA Society's Women's Executive Committee and the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) Women's Initiatives Executive Committee are pleased to honor the following four women with their 2017 Women to Watch Awards. These women have made significant contributions to the accounting profession, their organizations, and to the development of women as leaders.  Women to Watch Award recipients are honored in two categories.

Experienced Leader Category: Recognized for mentoring other professionals, community service, major or unique contributions to the profession, leadership in workplace improvement and for authoring professional articles. This year’s winners are:

  • Natasha Granholm, CPA, MST –  Partner, PwC, Chicago
  • Katherine M. Scherer, CPA – Managing Partner, Business Tax Services, Deloitte Tax LLP, Chicago

Emerging Leader Award Category: Recognized for demonstration of leadership, contributions to the profession, creation and implementation of unique initiatives in their workplace, community service and involvement with their alma mater. This year’s winners are:

  • Caroline I. Linton, CPA, MST – Senior Manager, Wipfli LLP, Chicago
  • Jennifer R. Perko, CPA – Senior Manager, Audit, Grant Thornton LLP, Chicago
