CHICAGO, September 15, 2017 – Todd Shapiro, President & CEO of the Illinois CPA Society (icpas.org), has been recognized by AccountingToday magazine on its new list of the “Top 100 Most Influential People”. It is the third consecutive year Shapiro has been named to the nationwide list of key influencers in the accounting profession.
In describing his impact on the profession, AccountingToday notes that, “Shapiro is one of a handful of prominent state society chiefs bringing attention to critical issues, from the shortage of CPA Exam candidates and the need for changes in professional education, to the impact of technology on the very fabric of accounting.”
Nominees were selected from across the country and included other state society leaders, government officials, consultants and key influencers in the profession.
“In this fast-moving era of disruption and technological advances, our priority has been to support and prepare our members with the information and resources they need to stay ahead of the curve,” Shapiro said. “This recognition is very rewarding, but it really does take a full team effort to achieve our goals. It doesn’t happen without the efforts of our entire Illinois CPA staff and volunteer leaders.”
