CHICAGO, January 30, 2018 – More than two dozen minority accounting students from Illinois colleges and universities recently spent their winter break learning skills to help advance their future careers. Earlier this month they participated in the Illinois CPA Society’s highly competitive Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program, which provides three days of training, resources and mentorship for select applicants. The primary goal is to prepare students with the skills needed to obtain accounting internships.
During the program, the following organizations presented sessions and many interviewed students for a variety of paid accounting internships: Abbott, Crowe Horwath LLP, Deloitte LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, Grant Thornton LLP, KPMG LLP, PwC LLP, and Sikich LLP. Additionally, all participants received a $500 scholarship to help with educational expenses.
