CHICAGO, June 20, 2018 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Kevin Jackson, Ph.D., CPA, Associate Professor of Accountancy and PwC faculty fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with its 2018 Lester H. McKeever Jr. Outstanding Leader in Advancing Diversity Award. Jackson was recognized for his leadership and commitment to fostering a culture of diversity within his profession.
He received the award on Thursday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago.
Jackson earned his undergraduate degree and Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He has served on the University of Illinois faculty since 2004 and also serves as Academic Director for the school’s BSA/MAS programs in accountancy.
“I am honored by the recognition and must acknowledge that many of the things I do to advance diversity depend on the tremendous support from my department and colleagues,” Jackson said. “Even as I recount the different ways in which I invest in diversity in the accounting profession, I’m encouraged by the commitment of others to this diversity objective.”
