CHICAGO, June 25, 2018 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Michael Donohoe, Ph.D., CPA, CGMA, Associate Professor of Accountancy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a PwC faculty fellow, with its 2018 Outstanding Educator Award. Donohoe was recognized for significant contributions to accounting education in Illinois through leadership, teaching excellence and active involvement in the accounting profession.
He received the award on Thursday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago.
Donohoe teaches Taxation of Business Entities in the university’s online Master of Science in Accountancy Program. His depth of knowledge of the subject matter and enthusiasm have led to his consistent placement on the list of instructors ranked as excellent at the University of Illinois.
“I am profoundly honored to be nominated by my students, let alone be named a recipient, of the Illinois CPA Society’s Outstanding Educator Award,” said Donohoe. “Evidence that I am making a meaningful impact in the classroom is an award in and of itself. I am grateful for the continual inspiration I receive from my students and colleagues at the University of Illinois.”
