Illinois CPA Society Honors Michael Rodriguez with its 2018 Young Professional Leadership Award

CHICAGO, June 26, 2018 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Michael Rodriguez, CPA, and Senior Risk and Controls Consultant at WEC Energy Group, with its 2018 Young Professional Leadership Award. Rodriguez was recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership skills in his career, in public or community service, and through his involvement with the Illinois CPA Society.

He received the award on Thursday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago.

Over the last two years, Rodriguez has served as Vice President of Universities and Student Relations for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) in Chicago. He also co-founded the Sprouting Leaders nonprofit organization in 2013. Sprouting Leaders promotes academic growth and personal development for youths in some of Chicago’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods.

“I am a true believer that if you want to have a lasting influence, you must invest in people’s lives,” Rodriguez said. “By taking responsibility as leaders to mentor and to build each other, we create longevity and sustainability in our organizations and communities.”
