Illinois CPA Society President & CEO Todd Shapiro Named to Top 100 Most Influential People List

CHICAGO, Dec. 7, 2020 – The Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS)—one of the largest state CPA societies in the nation—is proud to announce President & CEO Todd Shapiro has been named to Accounting Today’s 2020 “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” list. This is the sixth consecutive year Shapiro has been recognized on the nationwide list of “thought leaders and change-makers who are shaping the profession.”

Accounting Today notes: “For Shapiro, it’s not enough to identify the issues of most importance to his members—though he does that, in part by constantly meeting with firms and practitioners across the state—and it’s not enough to identify solutions, either. He is also determined to lead the profession in adopting those solutions, and in moving forward toward its best possible future.”

“As the pace of changes continues to accelerate around us, our priority has been to support and prepare our members to be the most trusted and strategic business advisors and to keep them ahead of the pack in the race for relevance,” Shapiro says. “Accounting Today’s recognition is always very rewarding for me, but it really does take a team to achieve our goals. This recognition reflects the efforts of the entire Illinois CPA Society and its staff, board of directors, volunteers, and members.”

Nominees for the Top 100 list were selected by their peers from all across the country and included other prominent state society leaders, government officials, consultants, and key influencers in the accounting and finance profession. A digital version of the complete list is available from Accounting Today.
