Advancing Women in Accounting Scholarship Fund

The Advancing Women in Accounting Scholarship Fund was created by the Illinois CPA Society's Women's Executive Committee in 2004 to support female students in their pursuit of accounting degrees and the CPA credential. Since then, 62 recipients have been honored with this designation.

This scholarship was awarded to seven future leaders this year, providing them with the recognition, financial assistance, and encouragement instrumental for their success. Their impressive academic, employment, and volunteer records, in addition to their special circumstances, made each of these young women ideal recipients of our donors’ support. Check out a few of their stories and see what a difference your donation could make.

“Obtaining a college degree is my way out of a continuous cycle of poverty. My widowed mother has her own financial burdens, so your generous scholarship has afforded me the opportunity to receive a higher education and achieve my life-changing goal of becoming a CPA!”

“Pursuing my passion for accounting hasn’t been easy. Following the unexpected death of my mother, and my father being laid off due to the pandemic, I worked part- and full-time jobs while balancing my honors courses. Thanks to the help of your $4,000 scholarship, I’ll be the only member of my family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.”

Jianna Keska, Dominican University

“When my mother was diagnosed with cancer last year, the news hit me hard and added unexpected financial stress to our family. But the support of this scholarship has eased our financial burden and sparked new motivation in me to pursue my passion for accounting. I am determined to succeed and make you proud to support students like me.”
