Taking the CPA Exam
Accountants who have graduated with 150 hours of approved coursework and have been approved by the Illinois Board of Examiners are eligible to sit for the CPA Exam—a computer-based test that testifies to their knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and standards.
Illinois Board of Examiners Relocates to NIU Naperville Campus
The Illinois Board of Examiners (IBOE) will move its headquarters to Northern Illinois University’s (NIU) Naperville Campus on Friday, July 19. As with any office relocation and the introduction of newly hired staff, callers and candidates should expect delays in receiving responses to inquiries and processing.
Exam Candidates contemplating taking portions of the CPA Exam in the near future should complete application materials prior to the IBOE’s move on Friday, July 19. Other inquiries and requests for certification should also be made in advance, if possible, to ensure a timely response.
The last scheduled work day in Champaign is Thursday, July 18 and doors should open for business again on Wednesday, July 24 in Naperville.
