CPA Exam Fees for Illinois Candidates

The total cost to take the CPA exam depends on how many exam sections you apply for at one time and where you plan to test. All fees are subject to change, so always confirm the latest information directly from the Illinois Board of Examiners (ILBOE) and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Credential Evaluation Fees (paid once to ILBOE)
Before you can apply to take the exam, your education must be evaluated.

  • Pre-Evaluation: $50
  • Domestic Credential Evaluation: $200
  • International Credential Evaluation (with Domestic Credits): $200

Application Fees (paid to ILBOE each time you apply)
The fee depends on how many exam sections you select on your application.

  • One section: $40
  • Two sections: $76
  • Three sections: $108
  • Four sections: $120

Testing Fees (paid to NASBA)
These fees cover the actual cost of sitting for the exam.

  • U.S. Test Center: $265.67
  • International Test Center: $365.55
