Women to Watch Award

Nominate a Woman to Watch in the Accounting Profession

 The Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Executive Committee and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee are looking for women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession, their organizations, and to the development of women as leaders. Please see below information regarding the nomination process.

The 2013 Women to Watch Awards will be presented at the November 15, 2013 Women's Leadership Breakfast where the winners will participate in a panel discussion on strategies for achieving success in the accounting profession.  


Who is Eligible?
Women who have demonstrated their ability to promote, within the accounting profession, a work environment that provides opportunities for the successful integration of their personal and professional life and the advancement of women to positions of leadership. Award recipients must be members of both the Illinois CPA Society and the AICPA.

Note:  Members of the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Executive Committee are not eligible for nomination.

Nomination Procedure
Complete and submit the nomination form including a narrative describing the nominee's qualifications. It is important to include additional information on the nominee such as a résumé, biography, letters of support or relevant articles. Provide details which demonstrate how the nominee has met each of the award criteria listed for their category.

 

Timeline
Nominations are welcome anytime throughout the year. Nominations are considered in June and the winners selected in July. Winners are honored at the annual Women's Leadership Breakfast program in November.

Selection Criteria
Nominees will be considered in two categories:

Experienced Leaders

  • Mentoring other professionals*
  • Community service
  • Major or unique contributions to the profession.
  • Leadership in workplace improvement.
  • Authorship of professional articles

* This criteria will be given a higher weight in the evaluation process.
