Pipeline Disruption: The Search for Solutions to the Weakening Supply of CPAs
There are many factors driving down the number of new CPAs: companies that don't value the credential; advisory services at firms that don't require a CPA; the 150-hour education requirement; and the complexity and format of the exam itself. But ultimately, we need to look inward and examine how we are encouraging, supporting and requiring accounting majors to become CPAs.
