We welcome back Kelly Richmond Pope for an update on White Collar Crime.  Unfortunately business entrepreneurs and employees continue to take advantage of unsuspecting victims in even more creative ways.  Law enforcement, Auditors, and Accountants continue to uncover criminal activities and are often accused of mistakes when these issues are uncovered later.  Becoming aware of the new scams will help you to maintain your professional responsibility.  Join us for another most interesting update from Kelly.

Kelly Richmond Pope is an Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy and MIS at DePaul University and founder of Helios Digital Learning.  Dr. Pope earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina A&T State University and her master’s and doctorate in accounting from Virginia Tech.  She was awarded the KPMG Doctoral Fellowship from 1997-2000.  Prior to joining the faculty at DePaul, Dr. Pope worked in the forensic practice at KPMG on anti-money laundering engagements, insurance fraud, and fraud risk management projects.  She has conducted forensic accounting seminars for the IL Attorney General in Chicago and Springfield.  Her research has been published in Behavioral Research in Accounting; the Journal of Academic Ethics; The CPA Journal; The New Accountant; The Journal of Non-Profit Management; Web CPA; and the Academy of Financial Studies Journal.  She currently serves of the governing council of the AICPA and is on the Board of Directors of the Illinois CPA Society.
