This presentation will cover the eligibility and compliance requirements for tax-exempt entities seeking to receive federal clean energy tax credits through elective pay, a new mechanism created in the Inflation Reduction Act. The session aims to help CPAs understand how to identify an eligible project, essential pre-filing requirements, and novel filing processes for entities filing taxes for the first time. Learning objectives include:

1.      Understand what “elective pay” is and to which federal tax credits it applies or is available.

2.      Learn how to advise clients as to their potential eligibility for elective pay and associated tax credits.
