Jon is the partner-in-charge of the Real Estate and
Construction practice at Crowe. Jon has 29 years of public accounting
experience, primarily managing and performing audit and management consulting
services to construction industry related companies. He also has five years of
experience working as a financial manager for a large general contractor. Jon’s
primary focus is working with general contractors, subcontractors, heavy/highway
contractors, architects, engineers and construction suppliers. Jon sits in our
Chicago office and works with several large general contractors across the
country.
James is the Vice President of Finance at Anson
Industries Inc., where he strategically oversees all accounting and finance
operations for the company's national footprint. Before taking on this
leadership role, James honed his expertise over 15 years at Crowe LLP,
culminating as an Assurance Managing Director. There, he specialized in
financial statement audits, reviews, and consulting, with focus on the
construction industry, including general, heavy highway, mechanical, and various
specialty contractors. James regularly authors industry articles and presents on
complex accounting topics. He's a Certified Public Accountant and an alumnus of
the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Committed to his profession, he
previously chaired the Illinois CPA Society's Construction Conference
Committee.
Dan Jatis serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
of McHugh Enterprises, where he oversees all aspects of accounting and finance for the company and
its subsidiaries, joint ventures,
and operations spanning multiple states.
With more
than three decades of experience and nearly 10 years as McHugh’s
CFO, Dan plays a critical
leadership role in shaping company strategy, managing risk, guiding
investments, and maximizing
returns. He is a core member of the Executive Group, known for driving efficiency and fostering strong
relationships across the banking, insurance, and bonding sectors.
Dan began his career in public
accounting, gaining extensive experience in both audit and tax at Checkers, Simon & Rosner—grounding him in the fundamentals of financial reporting and compliance. He then spent over 15 years
as Controller and Executive Management team member at TJ Lambrecht Construction, a regional
contractor active across seven
states. There, he managed financial systems, implemented process
improvements, and supported the
company’s growth through both expansion and wind-down phases.
Since joining McHugh in 2013, Dan
has steadily advanced from Vice President / Controller to CFO, applying his practical knowledge from all sides of
the construction business—developer, investor, GC, and subcontractor. A graduate of
Northern Illinois University with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and CPA certification, Dan is
a people-first leader known for
mentoring teams and delivering high-quality, actionable financial insight that drives
results.
Fred Campos leads the Southeast Transaction Advisory
Services practice for CBIZ. He has more than 20 years of experience in
accounting and finance. Throughout his career, Fred has executed on more than
300 transactions that ranged in purchase price from $15 million to more than $1
billion. Fred has led inbound and outbound cross-border transactions between the
United States and countries throughout Latin America. He provides advisory
services to strategic and private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side
transactions. Additionally, Fred leads the Exit Readiness practice assisting
business owners in successfully preparing for an eventual exit. Fred has
extensive experience in Construction, Private Equity, Technology, Retail,
Distribution & Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Healthcare. Prior to
CBIZ, Fred founded and led a boutique advisory services firm focused on mergers
and acquisitions and exit readiness. Earlier in his career, he led the regional
transaction practice for a global top tier public accounting firm and
established a transaction practice for another global firm, where he also led
their Latin America practice. He began his career with a Big Four firm where he
spent a year living in Chile. Fred is a frequent speaker at local and national
conferences and has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal regarding his
insights into the Brazilian M&A market.
David Blum is a partner with Akerman LLP and serves as
Deputy Chair of its National Tax Practice Group. David is a Fellow of the
American College of Tax Counsel, and is ranked for Tax and Tax Controversy in
Chambers USA, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers in America. David provides
transactional, tax planning, and tax litigation counsel to local and
multinational businesses throughout the United States. His practice serves a
variety of sectors, including technology, communications, automotive retail,
equipment leasing, financial services, senior care, logistics, hospitality, and
retail, among others. A former state tax auditor, David has years of experience
representing U.S. and multinational companies before the Internal Revenue
Service and State and Local Taxing Agencies throughout the country in
administrative and judicial actions.
Dakota Newton, J.D., LL.M., is a senior associate with
Akerman LLP who focuses his practice on state and local taxes, representing
clients in controversy disputes, transactional matters, and tax planning. His
practice serves a range of industry sectors, with specific emphases on clients
in the energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors. In controversy matters,
Dakota has represented numerous taxpayers as lead counsel in both direct and
indirect tax matters at the audit, administrative, and judicial levels in
Illinois and other states. Dakota also has significant experience handling the
state tax implications of major equity sales and asset divestitures for both
public and privately held companies within the energy and manufacturing sectors.
Additionally, he provides strategic advice to middle-market clients on entity
and asset structuring to optimize state tax outcomes.
Jim Lundy is a partner in the Tax & Business
Services division and a member of Marcum’s
national Construction
Industry Practice group.With more than 30 years of experience in both
public and
private practice, Mr. Lundy is one of the most respected tax consultants in
the
construction industry. He works regularly with more than 350 construction
entities to provide
a wide range of tax services. Services include performing
tax physicals to provide a full
overview of a construction company’s tax
compliance and planning opportunities, establishing
continuity and succession
plans for contractors, dealing with federal and state authorities
regarding
tax issues important to contractors and leading in the timely completion of
tax
reporting required for the construction industry.
Mr. Lundy is an accomplished speaker and the author of many articles
published on
construction tax-related issues. The Tennessee Society of CPAs
has honored him as Speaker
of the Year more than 10 times; the Alabama
Society of CPAs has presented him with their
Thomas A. Ratcliff Outstanding
Discussion Leader Award; and he has been the highest-rated
speaker at both
the American Institute of CPAs’ National Construction Industry Conference
and
the AICPA National Tax Conference.
He is often sought out to provide in-house training to other CPA firms and
organizations
interested in obtaining the most up-to-date and practical
applications of the tax rules and
regulations pertaining to the construction
industry. He has also testified before the Tennessee
Tax Commission regarding
the taxation of multi-state contractors.
Mr. Lundy is a past chair of the TSCPA Construction Committee and is former
chairman
of the AICPA National Construction Committee. He helped direct the
very successful initial
statewide construction conference and has been active
in other committees, including the
Continuing Education Committee, the
Accounting Careers Committee, the Tennessee Road
Builders Investment
Committee and the Board of Directors of the Middle Tennessee
Associated
Builders and Contractors.
Kendall E. Woods is Shareholder in the Chicago office of
Buchalter, a national full-service law firm. Kendall is a seasoned construction
attorney regularly representing developers, contractors, and subcontractors in
both contract negotiations and complex dispute resolution across both public and
private projects. Kendall has extensive experience working with clients on delay
and lost productivity disputes, design and construction defect disputes,
contract enforcement and breaches, lien issues, insurance claims and coverage,
and construction injury. She also has significant experience in commercial and
business law issues, copyright and trademark litigation, aviation litigation,
products liability litigation, premises liability litigation, insurance claims,
and corporate litigation. Known for her strategic approach and deep
understanding of construction law, Kendall regularly advises clients from
project inception through dispute resolution. Kendall is also a frequent speaker
and writer on construction risk management and emerging trends in the legal
industry.
Joann Holman is a Managing Director in the
Construction & Engineering Group for CIBC Bank's U.S. region. Joann works
with owners and senior executives of construction firms to ensure optimal
financing, treasury and other banking products and services are in place. She
has over 35 years of experience within the financial services industries. Joann
received her Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from Drake
University in Des Moines, Iowa. She received her Master of Business
Administration in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She is
also a Certified Public Accountant. Joann is a Board member of the Chicago
Chapter of the CFMA, a member of the CFMA's Valley of the Sun Chapter and a
member of the CFMA's National Education Committee. In addition, she is an active
member of the Chicago Building Congress ("CBC"), a Founder of the CBC's Women's
Special Interest Group and is also a member of CICPAC.
Andrea Warning is the Director of the CNA Surety Chicago
office. Andrea has worked in the surety industry for over 30 years, and with CNA
Surety for 27. Andrea has serviced construction customers of every trade and
discipline, with size ranging from a small start up to large
national/international operations, finding solutions to maximize bonding
capacity. Andrea is a proud member of the Illinois Road & Transportation
Builders Association, Chicago AGC, Chicago Building Congress, Construction
Financial Management Association and Surety Association of
Illinois.
Marty Green serves as Senior Vice President and
Legislative Counsel for the Illinois CPA Society. His responsibilities include
working with the Society’s CEO and Board of Directors to launch initiatives
related to state legislative and regulatory actions affecting accounting and
financial professionals. Mr. Green also works with state & federal
legislators on issues and proposed legislation to best serve the Society’s more
than 23,00 members. Previously, he served in state government and worked on
public policy issues as an Executive Assistant Attorney General on the staffs of
former Illinois Attorneys General, Lisa Madigan, and Jim Ryan. Mr. Green also
worked in the administration of former Illinois Governor, Jim Edgar, as Director of the Governor’s Office of Citizens
Assistance and as an Assistant to Governor Edgar. Mr. Green is
also a Brigadier General in the Air National Guard–serving as the Air
National Guard Assistant to the Deputy Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. A
graduate of Western Illinois University and Saint Louis University Law School,
Mr. Green was also selected for a White House internship. He served in
the administration of Vice President George H.W. Bush assisting the
Vice President’s Press Secretary. Mr. Green is admitted to practice in the
state and federal courts and is a member of the Illinois Bar
Association. He is the recipient of the Western Illinois University Alumni Achievement Award,
is a Past President of the WIU Alumni Association and served as
an adjunct instructor for the university’s Department of Health Sciences. In addition, Mr. Green
also serves on the Board for the Illinois Governor’s Mansion Association and
is a gubernatorial appointee to the Illinois Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission.
