Illinois CPA Society Honors Margaret M. Tower with its 2019 Outstanding Educator Award

CHICAGO, June 13, 2019 – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Margaret M. Tower, CPA, MBA Instructor of Accounting/Director of the Office of Student Engagement and Mentorship Program, DePaul University, with its 2019 Outstanding Educator Award. Tower was recognized for significant contributions to accounting education in Illinois through leadership, teaching excellence and active involvement in the accounting profession.

She received the award on Tuesday, June 4 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition and Awards Dinner in Chicago.

Tower teaches introductory, intermediate, financial, and managerial accounting classes at DePaul. She also serves as faculty in the university’s Strobel Accounting Honors program and the Finance Honors program.

“Teaching has enabled me to combine my professional experience in public and corporate accounting with my desire to educate and mentor the next generation of professionals,” she said. “I enjoy bringing accounting to life and providing professional engagement opportunities for my students.”

Tower received her undergraduate degree at Loyola University in Chicago. She later earned an MBA, with distinction, from DePaul.
