CPA candidates are required to pass a separate ethics exam on the rules of professional conduct before they are issued an Illinois CPA Certificate. The requirements are fulfilled by completing Professional Ethics: The AICPA’s Comprehensive Course, which is a self-study course that concludes with an open-book online test.

Don’t wait – you can take the Ethics Exam anytime, even before you are approved to sit for the CPA Exam. A score of at least 90 percent is required to pass, and the score does not expire.

Process:

After purchasing the course & exam, registrants will receive an email within 2 business days, informing them that an account has been created for them and the next step is to create a password.

A separate email will provide access to begin the course.  The first step of the course is to select the state(s) where you wish to have your results reported upon successful completion.  There is a limit of 5 states.
